2025 Annual Report

At the Correctional Leaders Association Southern Region meeting in Charlotte, Governor Stein highlighted NC's correctional officer staffing challenges and called for the General Assembly to invest in recruitment and retention.

ACA Accreditation

As part of its strategic plan, the NCDAC is pursuing American Correctional Association accreditation for all parts of the agency.

Air Conditioning Upgrades

This complex NCDAC project aims to design and install air conditioning at 40 state prisons that lack cooling systems, either partially or entirely, by 2027.
