NCDAC employees Chavis Everett, Darrell Monroe & Scott Surles,  were recognized this week as recipients of the 2024 Governor’s Award for Excellence.
 

Darrell Monroe and Scott Surles receive Governor Award with Sec. Ishee

Darrell Monroe and Scott Surles are truck drivers for Correction Enterprises and were honored in the Safety and Heroism category for rendering roadside assistance to a motorist after a crash in Raleigh.  They removed the driver from his wrecked car as it was beginning to burn.

Chavis Everett receives Governors Award with Sec. Ishee

Chavis Everett is a probation/parole officer who serves Richmond County in District 20.  He was recognized in the Public Service category for his service to the community in numerous ways, including his work in removing fallen trees and cutting then into firewood for seniors.
