What: Crime Victims Compensation Quarterly Commission Meeting
When: Wednesday, June 14, 10 a.m.
Where: Victim Compensation Conference Room, Ground Floor, G-24D of the Archdale Building, 512 N. Salisbury St., Raleigh
Background: The Crime Victims Compensation Commission reimburses victims of violent crime for medical bills, lost wages, out-of-pocket expenses and other losses related to their victimization. At this meeting, the commission will hear 86 claims totaling $1,236,682.
Note: Commission meetings are closed according to General Statute 15B-8.1, which states that claimant records are confidential concerning medical records, any law enforcement or juvenile records, and when “concerning the physical, mental or emotional condition of the claimant or victim.”
The total amount awarded to a victim or claimant is public information.
“Except for information held confidential under this subsection, the records of the Division shall be open to public inspection,” G.S. 15B-8.1.
