The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction has recognized Warden David Millis of Craven Correctional Institution as its warden of the year, and its nominee for warden of the year honors from the North American Association of Wardens and Superintendents.
Officials with the Division of Community Supervision have promoted Shawn Owens to Assistant Division Administrator in Judicial Division 3, effective Jan. 22, 2024.In his new position, Owens will oversee Community Supervision operations in the 3rd Judicial Division, which covers 22 counties in the central portions of the state.
An offender at Bertie Correctional Institution has died from injuries sustained as the result of an alleged assault by another offender on Jan. 12, 2024 and law enforcement is investigating.
