Inmate Terrance Allen is back in custody after returning to the facility on his own a short time ago.

Prison emergency response teams and local law enforcement are searching for escaped inmate Terrance Allen (#0005162). A minimum custody inmate, Allen was last seen on his work release assignment in Wilmington at approximately 7:40 p.m. Sunday.
Allen, 46, was assigned to New Hanover Correctional Center. He is serving a sentence as an habitual felon with a history of multiple larcenies, speeding to elude arrest, resisting an officer and other crimes. His projected release date was August 2017.
Prisons initiated escape procedures and alerted local law enforcement. If anyone has any information on Allen's whereabouts, please call 911 or call New Hanover Correctional Center at (910) 251-2666.
