A second Siler City man was arrested today for his role in the homicide of Esau Abraham Brenes. Francisco Rivas Galves-Huezo, of Siler City was previously charged for his role in the homicide.
Arnold Jaramillo Lopez, 16, of Siler City was indicted by a Chatham County grand jury and served with warrants today. He is charged with First Degree Murder and Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon. Lopez is a known associate of Galves-Huezo, who is also known as Francisco Antonio Rivas.
The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office reported yesterday that the human remains discovered near Julian on Friday were those of 21-year-old Francisco Antonio Rivas. Rivas was on the run after being charged with murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon under the name of Francisco Rivas Galves-Huezo.
The arrest of Lopez is a result of a joint investigation conducted the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, Siler City Police Department and the State Bureau of Investigation.
