An anonymous tip led to the arrest of a Knightdale man today suspected of striking and killing a pedestrian on Friday, Oct. 30, while he walked along Poole Road. Wake County troopers worked tirelessly following up on leads with the hopes of bringing closure to a grieving mother.
At approximately 7:45 a.m. on Friday, Oct.r 30, the Wake County Sheriff’s Department received a call that a pedestrian had been struck near the address of 5818 Poole Road near Rock Drive near the Raleigh city limits. When investigators arrived they located Terrance Rayshone Faison, 23, of 4009 Mackinac Island Lane, Raleigh, lying on the right shoulder of Poole Road. Investigators believe that between 11:45 p.m. and 12 a.m., Mr. Faison was walking on the right shoulder of Poole Road when he was struck by what is described to be a 2005 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer edition. The vehicle was described as being two-toned with the bottom portion being gold in color. The right front corner of the vehicle’s bumper was left at the scene. After impact, the driver fled from the scene. Since the collision, troopers followed up on numerous leads which eventually lead to the identity of the driver.
On Monday, November 9, 2015, Caesar Leake, 47, of 1033 Spawn Place, Knightdale, was placed under arrest and charged in the death of Faison. Leake has been charged with the following charges; Felony Hit and Run Resulting in Serious Injury/Death, Aggravated Death by a Motor Vehicle, Driving While Impaired and Insurance Fraud. Leake’s first court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 10.
