Tammera Sudderth Hill serves as the Chief Operating Officer for the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction. Prior to joining NCDAC, she served as Deputy General Counsel for North Carolina Department of Public Safety.
Tammera has also worked for the North Carolina Department of Justice, starting out as an Assistant Attorney General and working her way up to Section Head of the Law Enforcement Liaison and Public Safety Sections. Her litigation duties centered mostly on personnel and certification matters as well as defense of state law enforcement and correctional officers in state and federal courts.
In her most recent role, Tammera served as the lead legal advisor for the law enforcement divisions of the North Carolina Department of Public Safety on matters of policy, personnel issues, and legal risk management, and she provided legal training for entry level officers, troopers and agents as well as supervisors and command staff.
She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina and UNC School of Law. When she’s not working, Tammera enjoys spending time with her family, singing, theater and commercial acting, and playing tennis and golf.
