Community Development and Outreach

The Community Development and Outreach team drives evidence-based research initiatives that address the needs of staff, offenders, and individuals under community supervision.

Additionally, the team supports NCDAC with strategic insights to improve recruitment and retention, helping the agency attract and retain top talent. These efforts strengthen the department’s mission and improve outcomes for both staff and those under supervision.

Staff from the Office of Partnerships and Outreach connect with the public at various community events throughout the year.

The team proactively collaborates with various departments to assess existing policies and practices, identifying key areas for improvement. It offers strategic recommendations based on scholarly research conducted in partnership with respected universities and colleges and implements strong systems for collecting and analyzing data to track the organization's progress in achieving language access and improving offender outcomes.

Language Access

The team also spearheads the agency’s Language Access initiatives through the creation and execution of NCDAC’s comprehensive Language Access Plan. This includes overseeing training programs, conducting thorough needs assessments across the entire agency, and optimizing processes to ensure seamless language accessibility in both internal communications with the offender population and external communications with offenders' families and the public.
