WHAT: N.C. Prison Reform Advisory Board Quarterly Meeting
DATE/TIME: Tuesday, June 19, 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
WHERE: Governor’s Crime Commission, Room 100, 1201 Front St., Raleigh
ABOUT: DPS established the eight-member Prison Reform Advisory Board, whose members are appointed by the Secretary. The Board predominantly consists of experts in the field of corrections. The members provide ongoing expert advice on best practices for maintaining prison safety. The Board also looks at various topics including operations, training, staffing, technology, facility design, and inmate work and program assignments.
Board members will hear about staff recruitment, training, prison re-missioning and safety/security, along with other topics, from senior administrators and subject matter experts.
