The Department of Pubic Safety’s Office of Victim Services conducted the fifth of six regional training sessions today for DPS staff, Victim Witness legal assistants from district attorney offices and victim services program providers.

WHAT: The Governor’s Task Force on Safer Schools provides guidance to the N.C. Center for Safer Schools and considers future policy and legislative action that is needed to improve school safety in North Carolina.

The 41 teens who opted to spend a week at the State Highway Patrol’s summer camp learned to push their mental and physical boundaries.

One student said, “I learned more in this week than I have in my 18 years in school.”

Graduates of Class 44 completed the 22-week resident Tar Heel Challenge Academy program and celebrated joyously during their graduation ceremony at the Sampson County Agri-Exposition Center here, June 12.
