Veterans Initiatives
The Veterans Initiatives Team addresses the unique needs and challenges faced by incarcerated veterans.
Many individuals under our supervision have served in the armed forces and may experience distinct issues related to their military service, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or difficulties in transitioning to civilian life.
The team helps develop and provide tailored programs that provide specialized support, resources, and rehabilitation opportunities for incarcerated veterans.
The staff is responsible for addressing the unique circumstances of incarcerated veterans, fostering a rehabilitative environment that respects their military service and supports their successful reintegration into society.
This section also develops programming to honor our NCDAC's staff veterans and brings together DAC veteran’s and support staff in a working group that works to provide support to DAC staff veterans and our offender veteran population.
