Chaplaincy Services
Chaplaincy Services' mission is to provide compassionate, individualized spiritual care to all people in NCDAC custody. We employ educated and diverse chaplains who are ordained or endorsed by their faith communities to meet the religious needs of the 17 different faith traditions recognized by the Department of Adult Correction.
Our Team
Chaplaincy Services is led by a dedicated team that includes:
• The Chaplaincy Services Director.
• A state office team including Regional Clinical Chaplains, a Minority Faith Coordinator, and a Transitional Aftercare Network Coordinator.
• Chaplains that serve on site at institutions across North Carolina.

If you have a friend or family member who is incarcerated in a North Carolina state prison, they will learn about the chaplaincy services available to them at the prison in which they are housed. If you have a death in your family, please contact the specific prison and ask to speak to the Officer in Charge or the Chaplain. NCDAC chaplains can give your loved one the news of the loss, offer support, and guide your family in the process.
Does your non-profit, ecclesial body or faith-based organization want to make a big difference in North Carolina prisons?
NCDAC is actively seeking organizations interested in becoming a partner to sponsor a Community-Funded Chaplain or Volunteer Chaplain. All chaplains must be ordained clergy in good-standing with their ordaining body who are willing to serve in a full-time or part-time (minimum 20 hours/week) professional capacity.

NCDAC recognizes 17 different religious traditions. We welcome volunteers in all faith traditions, but we especially need volunteers from the following religions:
